Wilderness Arts College is a place where education comes alive in the mud, among the animals, under the open sky, and around the fire. Here, you’ll get dirty in the best way, working hands-on with animals, on the land, and within a vibrant, heart-centered community.
This is not your typical classroom. It’s a space where your curiosity leads the way, and your confidence grows as you learn to speak, connect, and collaborate with people of all ages. Whether you’re building skills for nature-based living, crafting your own learning path, or dreaming up earth-aligned business ideas, you’ll be supported, challenged, and inspired.
You’re not just learning about the world; you’re stepping into it, ready to make a difference. Welcome to the Wilderness Arts College. Your journey starts here.

After completing a Masters of Teaching at Melbourne University, writing a book about Teacher Presence, teaching in the state system for over a decade, studying the Steiner, Montessori and ancient initiation processes of teens to adulthood, it was the simple next progression to start a holistic nature-based outdoor education program.
As a father who has observed every stage of growth every day over years of learning, it has become clear as to what it means to be human growing up right now with all the overwhelm and confusion the tech world has to offer, and what this next stage of human being will need for wellbeing, growth and happiness.
To maintain centred and bring new initiative to the world, we will need a space for the next generation to grow in a powerfully loving nature-based learning environment to foster creativity and confidence.
We are now proud to present the Wilderness Arts College, a global initiative based in the Yarra Valley.

Nature is the foundation of our educational philosophy. It serves as a dynamic classroom where children explore, observe, and learn through direct engagement with the environment. This connection fosters ecological awareness, resilience, and a sense of wonder, encouraging experiential learning and respect for the natural world.

Arts are seamlessly integrated into daily activities, promoting self-expression and critical thinking. Hands-on experiences such as woodworking, gardening, visual arts, and movement are central, enabling students to learn through doing. Inspired by Reggio Emilia, we view the environment as the "third teacher," rich with materials that ignite creativity and inquiry.

Children who thrive here are eager, inquisitive, and intrinsically motivated to explore their surroundings. They are independent, collaborative, and receptive to experiential learning. Our environment nurtures self-confidence, emotional intelligence, and a lifelong love of learning, supporting students at their individual developmental stages.
